In a grand gesture of patriotism, the USCIS conducted 24,000 naturalizations over the July 4th weekend. The naturalizations were held throughout the United States and the world and included many immigrants who are serving in the armed forces.
The naturalizations were accomplished through 350 ceremonies, including at Independence Hall in Philadelphia; the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum in Atlanta; McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, R.I.; the National World War II Museum in New Orleans; the USS Constitution in Charlestown, Mass.; George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens in Mount Vernon, Va.; and SeaWorld in Orlando, Fla.
The military naturalization ceremonies were carried out in Baghdad, Kabul, and Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.
If you are thinking about naturalizing, please contact a naturalization attorney before beginning the process.
