Today, the US Citizenship and Immigration Service is launching a newly designed website that is meant to be “customer-centric” and a “one-stop shop” for immigration information. The initiative to redesign the site came directly from President Obama who promised on June 25th, 2009 that, “In the next 90 days, USCIS will launch a vastly improved Web site that will, for the first time ever, allow applicants to get updates on their status of their applications via e-mail and text message and online.”
Let’s hope that the changes are for the better and are effective. On first impression however, it appears the site is just as complicated and confusing as the old site.
